Homemade Glitter

This glitter is awesome because it doesn't stick to skin, get in eyes, or make a mess like real glitter does. All you need is 1/4 cup salt per color and liquid food coloring.

First, we put 1/4 cup salt in each bowl and mixed enough food coloring into each one to cover all the salt (about 10 drops per 1/4 cup salt).

We lined cookie sheets with tin foil and spread the colored salt out. We put them in the oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

After the glitter cooled, I dumped it into empty spice jars. See how sparkly it is!

Then we tried it out! First Mercedes squirted glue all over a piece of construction paper.

Then she sprinkled glitter all over.

So, so shiny!
