Paint Chip Rainbow

Mercedes and I made this incredible rainbow with paint chips. We had a huge booklet of paint chips leftover from my dad's home repair days. I had Mercedes pick her favorite colors and we cut them out and pasted them in the shape of a rainbow on 4 sheets of 12x12 white cardstock paper taped to the wall. We used glue sticks to stick them down.

After we'd finished, incredible as it was, it looked kind of plain. Luckily it's almost St. Patrick's Day, so I printed off a couple of Leprechan pictures from THIS WEBSITE and we colored them, cut them out and pasted them under the rainbow. We filled their pots of gold with gold sequins and used colored glue to make grass for them to run around on.

Then we painted the sky and used cotton balls for clouds.

We spent several of Emerald's nap times over the course of 2 or 3 days working on this project.

Mercedes was VERY proud of herself and had a ton of fun!
