Lesson 4: Abraham

Bible (pg 24)
Popsicle stick people

Abraham was God's friend. God loved Abraham and his wife Sarah. One day God told Abraham, "Leave your home! Pack up your tents. Gather all your animals. Call all your servants together. You are going to move. I am going to give you a new land and Sarah will have lots of children."

Abraham did not know why God wanted him to do such a hard thing. He loved where he lived. He loved his friends, too. He did not want to leave them. It would be very hard work to move. They would have to walk a long, long time to a place very far away. But Abrahama knew that obeying God was best. So he took his wife...(popsicle stick people) his servants...his sheep...his goats...his dogs...his camels...and they walked, and walked, and walked, and walked and walked and walked.

Finally they came to the land God promised to give to Abraham. The land was very beautiful (show picture in Bible). There were pretty green hills, lots of trees and green grass. God kept his promise and gave Abraham and his wife a wonderful new place to live. Later God gave them a new baby son named Isaac. It was a happy family. They were glad that they had obeyed God.

When Abraham and Noah obeyed God, God blessed them and took very good care of them. When we obey God, He blesses us too.

The words of this story were copied from some preschool Bible flashcards that belong to my mom (copyright by CRC Publications 1988...this is the only info I have on the cards. I'm not sure where they originally came from). I am posting this for Sunday School and homeschooling purposes only and I do not claim myself as the author of these stories.
