Lesson 31: Jesus Heals Ten Lepers

Supplies:
10 Lepers (sick)
10 Lepers (healed)
1 Healed Leper (who said thank you)

One day Jesus and his disciples were walking to a town. As they were walking, ten men came to Jesus. The men were very sad. They had big sores all over their bodies. The sores hurt very bad! (show sick lepers).

They said, "Jesus, please help us! Please love us. We have sores all over our bodies. Nobody wants to be our friend. Nobody loves us. People don't want to touch us or be near us. We are so lonely and sad. Will you please make us better?"

Jesus knew that the men believed he could heal them. That made Jesus happy. Jesus was the only one who could make the sores go away. The men knew that. Jesus said, "go to the priests in the temple. Show them that your skin is all better."

The men looked at their skin. It was not all better. There were still sores all over. But the men believed Jesus. They ran to the temple. While they were running, their sores disappeared! (show healed lepers)

Their skin was all better. Jesus healed them while they were running!

The men were so happy! One man wanted to thank Jesus (show thankful leper).

He ran back to where Jesus was. He said, "thank you, Jesus! Thank you for making my skin better!"

Jesus was happy that the man said thank you. But he wondered where the other men went. Jesus healed ten men. Only one man came back to thank him. We need to be thankful like the man who said thank you to Jesus.

The words of this story were copied from some preschool Bible flashcards that belong to my mom (copyright by CRC Publications 1988...this is the only info I have on the cards. I'm not sure where they originally came from). I am posting this for Sunday School and homeschooling purposes only and I do not claim myself as the author of these stories.
