Letter of the Week: F

We have been busy with fall cleaning lately so I'm a little behind on my blogging. We did Letter F Week three weeks ago. We had a ton of fun!

First I wrote the big and little letter F on a piece of paper and we practiced making the "F" sound.

Mercedes kept calling it an E, so I made this worksheet for her and we worked through it together, circling all the Fs and crossing out all the Es. After just a minute or two she could easily tell the difference.

She traced the big and little letter F on the worksheet I made for her.

And she colored a letter F activity sheet.

I made her the letter F flashcards for practicing purposes.

I put together a busy bag with items that begin with the letter F. A flower, flashslight, mini paper fan, plastic french fries, fork, frogs, plastic fudge, foam F, fish and foam flower. Mercedes took each item out one by one and we practiced making the F sound.

Mercedes practiced making the ASL sign for F.

She made a big letter F out of glittery sheets of foam.

She made the little letter F out of flower petals.

Mercedes picked out some fake flowers at the Dollar Tree and spent a good amount of time practicing flower arranging.

We built a fire for roasting marshmallows.

Her daddy set up a tent in our basement for "camping" and she roasted marshmallows on a pretend fire indoors too.

We played an alphabet fishing game.

Afterwards she fried the fish on a pretend frying pan and "ate" them for a "snack".

We played with a flashlight in our tent.

She made foam crafts (bought at the dollar store).

She made footprints with paint.

And fingerprints too.

And we made a fall centerpiece for our kitchen table.

It was a great week full of fun activities!
